G. Yadaiah

G. Yadaiah has been working in the tribal areas since the past 20 years. He was associated with a drop out education programme as the programme director for the Koya, Kondareddy and Gond youth at Ramannapalem (erstwhile Khammam, now East Godavari), Gunjedu (Warangal district) and Utnur (adilabad). During this period he began to understand the distinctness of adivasi culture and language. He was nurturing a group of young writers among Koya and Kondareddy communities. As a team they compiled books in Koya language in the form of poetry, riddles and folk stories. He have also participated in the workshops organised to compile a dictionary in Gondi language. With all this experience, he want to take the proposed work ahead to more communities. Currently his activities include- identifying and nurtureing first generation writers from these two communities. Education counselling conducted to guide the youth in taking up useful courses in their further studies, workshops to interact and work with Koya and Kondareddy youth to bring out other forms of literature. Currently he is also involved in the UNESCO Translation Commons Network.
